ROSES, PEONIES AND DAHLIAS

Many flower quotes by William Shakespeare appear throughout his works.

“What’s in a name? that which we call a rose

By any other name would smell as sweet.”

spoken by Juliet in “Romeo and Juliet” (2.2.45-7)

“Of all Flowers, me thinks a Rose is best,”  spoken by Emilia in  “The Two Noble Kinsmen.”

A rose garden conjures up images of beauty, perfection and love.

Carol Ann Atwood shares a love of the rose with Shakespeare.  It is not easy growing roses in Florida.  Early mornings find Carol Ann tending precious roses before the sun gets too high in the sky and before the temperature rises to uncomfortable levels.

Enjoy Carol Ann’s beautiful blooms.

Thank you Carol Ann and Calvin for sharing your garden with us.

Peonies and dahlias are next!

All the flowers are providing me inspiration for new paintings.

Watch for an upcoming floral series of paintings.

Come celebrate with me.  I’ll save you a seat in the garden.
