Congratulations to the University of Connecticut basketball team on their victory over the Florida Gators. Even with 100 Rowdy Reptiles sitting behind the basket, the Gators fell short.
In my previous post I shared the Yogurt Cake with Orange Glaze. We cut and served it after the UCONN victory.
I also served the Shrimp Salsa, a favorite Florida recipe.
My allegiance to the University of Florida also included orange napkins (I always use cloth napkins. I have been known to iron napkins before every dinner or tailgating party.)
I served a great No Bean Chili Dip with lots of big blue for the University of Kentucky.
Congratulations to the Kentucky Wildcats on their victory over Wisconsin.
Wisconsin played a great game and had a great season.
Brats on Pretzel Bread, drizzled with Cheddar Beer Cheese Spread.
The Big Game last night pitted 8 seed Kentucky against 7 seed Connecticut. What a game. UCONN won and proved the doubters wrong.
Dave and I had another piece of Yogurt Cake from the Bee & Thistle Inn in CT. Thank you to Terry Blady for sending me the recipe.
It was a wonderful season. Thank you to all who contributed great recipes in honor of your teams.
Watch for upcoming stories from my tailgating travels. I welcome your comments, recipes and any inside information on your favorite tailgating spots.
Come celebrate with me. I’ll save you a seat at the table.

Made a small serving of the shrimp salsa dip for the big game last night. It was very good. Had blue tortilla chips in honor of the Big Blue nation. Luck was with the Huskies as they denied the Cats #9…so do cats really have 9 lives? Looking forward to big game in NCAA Girls tonight it should be a memorable game. So enjoy your Tailgating through the South. Keep them coming. Michael
Thanks Michael. Always appreciate your comments and support. Like the blue tortilla chips with the salsa too. Kentucky had a great season as did Louisville. Know you wish Louisville had made final four.
Here’s a true story for you-I’m an avid UK fan who like all of the BBN bleeds blue. Approximately 1:15 minutes prior to NCAA Championship game an intestinal virus hit me with no warning & Inspent the entire game in bed with a bucket.
I’m proud of the Cats & understand poor free throw shooting hurt them badly.
To make me feel better I stopped & looked at my Kathy Miller UK print this AM before leaving for the office. Go Cats!
Oh Dave! I didn’t know. Your Cats were awesome and I was pulling for them the entire game. Such great kids. Just can’t believe you were sick. I am so glad you like the Kentucky tailgating print. It is one of my favorites and my 2 sisters who are also huge Tennessee fans think the Kentucky painting is the best!
