Yippee I oh ki-ay! (Be sure to read to the end to see why I put this in!)
Woo Hoo Hoo COLOR!
3 new flower paintings ready for gifting….
Inspired by the purchase of a new “tool”… A Colour Shaper. I took a painting I had been working on, one that was boring me…then experimented with spreading the color on and before I knew it…Yellow and turquoise had taken over.
12″ x 12″ Acrylic on Canvas, 1 1/2″ Gallery Wrapped

The 12″x12″ size is perfect for bookshelves or grouped together on a gallery wall.
The Colour Shaper looks like a brush except it has a silicone tip instead of bristles. This allows you to put lots of paint on the canvas to build up depth very quickly, creating lots of texture. I am using the 1″ shaper, available on Amazon.
I discovered the Colour Shaper from an artist friend’s blog post. Karen Weihs is a modern impressionist /contemporay Colorist of the Carolinas. See her website and blog post here.
For those not wanting quite so much color…2 new paintings that compliment each other.
Inspired by a Lewis Miller Floral Arrangement…I added lots of color and lots of paint, spread with a Colour Shaper. Lewis Miller is a renowned New York based floral designer. I discovered him on Instagram with his Flower Flash, guerrilla-style street art installations made with flowers. (no relation to me but we both love flowers!)

Inspired by a Pink Ranunculus Floral Arrangement by Kate Shelter…I added lots of color and lots of paint, spread with a Colour Shaper.

Here is the photo that inspired me.
And I’m in a corny mood…and started this post with Yippee I oh ki-ay. My father who read Zane Grey books about the west and wanted to be a cowboy…loved to strum his guitar around the campfire singing many old songs…one of his favorites included Yippe I oh ki-ay. Hope you enjoy this Roy Rogers version…had me laughing and wishing my father was still here singing around the campfire…think that will be a story for another time.
Happy Happy Holidays!
