Amelia Island and Nassau County have a wonderful Boys & Girls Clubs presence with 2 physical facilities serving the area, The Miller Freedom Center and The Roberts Learning and Achievement Center.
“The Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
The Boys & Girls Clubs are very important to the Miller family. Many of you have heard me talk about “Pops”. He was Dave’s father and an inspiration to the many who knew him and to those who may not have known him except through his generosity.
Pops helped to establish The B&GC in Nassau County by spearheading the fundraising campaign and helping to secure the purchase of the land for the Miller Freedom Center. Over the years Pops gave his time and money to the B&GC Nassau.
Pops’ daughter, Clara Miller (known to many of us as Aunt Vern) continues in his footsteps as President of the B&GCNassau Foundation and chairman of the Annual Benefit.
This year’s benefit is now upon us!

Large pop portraits explode together on stage in minutes to music. Paint, sound, and entertainment collide for an entertaining show that has brought people around the world to their feet.”

The B&GC makes such a positive impact on young folks and their families. A tour of the Miller Freedom Center (B&GC Facility) will warm your heart. I appreciate the work my sister is doing to continue our family’s involvement.
