Kathy Miller Time celebrates the art of living:

art, family, friends, food, home & garden, entertaining, lifestyle, travel, sports, and tailgating…the idea of living well.

I love to paint. I love football, food, family, friends and tailgating…not necessarily in that order. What started in 2013 as a “Tailgating Through The South” painting series soon morphed into something larger with my tailgating blog. I discovered my readers enjoyed the tailgating adventures, but also were interested in my other stories. Tales about hiking in the mountains of North Carolina, visiting farmer’s markets in Vermont, eating lobster everyday in Maine (and sharing those recipes), special gardens and homes in Charleston, interiors on Amelia Island, and simply celebrating life and the art of living.

Tailgating: for my football loving fans. After rooting for my favorite team, the Tennessee Volunteers, attending Florida games as a Gator Mom, and traveling to away games around the SEC, I painted a “Tailgating Through The South” series that celebrates the special school traditions and unique tailgating spots of each of the 14 Southeastern Conference schools. Each painting richly captures the essence of its school’s culture, campus, culinary creations, and people; always including a tailgate.

Art & Painting: I graduated from The University of Tennessee with a degree in Textiles & Clothing/Merchandising. After a successful career as a buyer and Divisional Merchandise Manager with Proffitt’s Department Store, I began painting to satisfy my creative longings. While living in Ponte Vedra Beach, I took art classes with Ellen Diamond, a well-known artist and teacher. Even after moving to Amelia Island, I continue to travel to Ellen’s class for weekly lessons.
My favorite painting subject other than tailgating??? Flowers, landscapes and  tablescapes.  Original paintings are currently available in the online gallery  Please contact me for purchasing information.

Food & Entertaining: Good food usually accompanies any celebration. Whether tailgating, homegating, having a picnic or entertaining at the Holidays, I always serve recipes that are fairly easy and have lots of flavor. Setting a beautiful table is part of the fun of entertaining.

Home & Garden: As a Textiles & Clothing major in college, I took many interior design courses along with arts and crafts. I have loved working with interiors and garden architecture throughout many home building projects. As an artist I also enjoy painting interiors and tablescapes.

Lifestyle & Travel: When traveling to the college campuses for my Tailgating series, one goal was to discover special restaurants (white tablecloth or dives) unique to that school or town. As I travel the country I continue to carry on this tradition. No fast food for us!
