I don’t know where ESPN’s Game Day will be this Saturday, (actually I do, North Dakota State vs. Delaware State) but I know where I will be.
POP’S PLACE for some serious tailgating.
This is always the toughest game for me. My Tennessee heart and my Gator allegiances always conflict.
I will have my Pre game face on; enjoying all my Gator family and friends
Tennessee Kathy and Gator Suzanne (my Midnight Yell in Aggieland Buddy)!
and my Tennessee family and friends.
Sister Lucy Bea and husband Joe, both Tennessee graduates,
with their daughters (my nieces) Hannah Bea and Kelly Ann, both Florida Dazzlers.
I will be wearing my Tennessee button, my Gator Mom button, my Beat Everybody (Except Tennessee) button, and an Orange and White Beat Florida button.
Friday night we will celebrate at The Swamp Restaurant, meeting Gator and Tennessee fans ready for game day.
Might enjoy the music from the rowdy tailgate behind Pops Place.
All this fun before the House Divided comes undone.
If the Gators win, please don’t ask me if I was “really in my heart” rooting for Tennessee. As before, I will reply, I grew up in Knoxville. I went to the University of Tennessee. I graduated from the University of Tennessee. Yes, I was rooting for Tennessee.
If Tennessee happens to win, I will be grinning from ear to ear, yet trying to be gracious. Pops my Gator father-in-law is always the first to congratulate me after a Tennessee victory. (Hasn’t happened very often lately, but the day is coming.)
Forrest Gump’s infamous quote, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get”.
Who would have guessed these 4 kids would become Gators with these Tennessee parents.
Hannah, Kelly, James & Elizabeth.
Kelly Ann giving her Aunt Kathy a questionable look.
I will have an update next week. Just give me time to recover.
Watch for upcoming stories from my tailgating travels. I welcome your comments, recipes and any inside information on your favorite tailgating spots.
Come celebrate with me. I’ll save you a seat at the table.

Lov underdogs. Go Vols
Being an SEC fan this is a game I always look forward to. FL has their best running back for first time this season so their offense should score more plus the UT secondary is not very good. Sorry Kathy but I predict a FL W in this rivalry game.
Thanks Charlie. Go vols! Need some Tennessee orange in the Swamp
Packing up my tailgate. Will have some Tennessee goodies and some Florida BBQ. Thanks Dave for your comment. You may be right but I am hoping to hear Rocky Top on Saturday. May even do some clogging
Go Vols!!!
I am sure we will be texting back and forth. Wish you were going to be with us.
I thought you and Aunt Lucy majored in fashion? What the hell are we kids all wearing in that photo? Lol
Too bad your red socks were cut off in this photo. Red to match the red stripes? Hannah is wearing a talking frog sweatshirt. Fashionatas!
I agree James, questioning the fashion and some of the hairdo’s…that said….Kathy-in all kinds of weather, we all stick together…no matter who wins…xoxo
So true Suzanne! Looking forward to a great time together and Rob’s BBQ! See you on Saturday at Pop’s Place.
Great post! Wish I could represent in the Swamp with y’all. Maybe next time. Go VOLS!
Wish you were going to be here too. Need some more orange and white
Hoping The Vols win! Always except when the Dawgs play them. Good luck with being gracious if or win!,,,
I was very gracious in our loss. Love our new coach and our players intensity. They did not give up. Still young but will continue to improve. Congrats to the Gators.
