FLOWER FRIDAY!!!
The second in the new 12″x12″ flower paintings! This size is perfect as a gallery grouping on a wall or just sitting on a shelf in your bookcase.
I love the size! It is an original acrylic painting on canvas, 1 1/2 inch gallery wrapped which means it doesn’t have to be framed…
Or add a subtle and sleek look with an antiqued silver leaf picture frame, a canvas floater. Float your fine art canvas, suspending and separating it from the moulding.
I love to show my painting process…
Round 1…Get the paint on the canvas … I casually sketch and then apply paint to cover the canvas. When it is dried I coat with a varnish to add depth.
I always love this first step….Just seems to be so loose and free…the only problem is…not enough paint.
After several more rounds of adding paint…(liking some things I did and then not liking some)…I finally finish…Sign and add last coat of varnish.
And once again, I photographed it in black and white (Thanks to an idea from Steve Leimberg).
Remember…it forces you to look at the lights and the darks!

Pretty! I really like the 12 x 12 size.
Thank you Becky! This size is perfect for a smaller space or on a shelf. I love book shelves to have an artful arrangement of books, art and collectibles!
Appreciate you!
As usual great color….wish I had some wall space…small house, limited walls.
Thanks D…Your home is beautiful and you have some very nice art!
